Slight Case Of Genetal Warts

major 17th-century reissued by Taschen

Chance my walks in the district of Saint-Germain-des-Pres in Paris recently made me go into the shop located 2 rue de Buci in the 6th arrondissement .
I discovered the works of the seventeenth century geography recently reissued by Taschen from the Atlas Major , originally published between 1662 and 1665 by the Amsterdam publisher Joan Blaeu (1596-1673).

can browse online here this atlas.
"Originally appearing in Latin, the atlas comprised 594 maps in 11 volumes, which depicted the entire known world at that time. This book was the largest and most expensive of the seventeenth century. World Reference Atlas for over a century, it became very rare and is now among the books most valuable and most sought after. By Taschen reprint of this atlas is based on copy colored and gilded with fine gold of the Austrian National Library in Vienna. Besides the original quotes from Joan Blaeu relating to the various maps, texts by Peter van der Krogt explains the historical and cultural context while introducing the reader into the fascinating world of mapping the early modern. "
The proposed Taschen the Atlas Major costs 150 euros, which allows the atlas to remain probably one of the most expensive today as when it was published in the seventeenth century ...
In contrast, Taschen had the good sense to decline the atlas atlas by several countries and groups of countries taken from the Atlas Major and priced much more reasonable.
Thus, three books are: Gallia, Anglia-Scottia and Hibernia, Hollandia and Belgica
The "Atlas Maior - Gallia" case of France, has 208 pages. It can discover online here and is priced at 9.99 euros.

The "Atlas Maior - Anglia, Scotia and Hibernia" , which covers England Will Scotland and Ireland, comprises two volumes and 392 pages in total. It can browse online here. It is offered at the same price as the previous 9.99 euros.

Finally, "Atlas Maior - Hollandia and Belgica corresponds to the Netherlands and Belgium. This book of 208 pages, you can browse online here, is offered at the same price of 9.99 euros.

The Taschen also had the idea to republish the "Orbis Terrarum Civitates" Braun / Hogenberg, published for the first time in Cologne between 1572 and 1618. This book offered at the time a global view of urban life at the turn of the 17th century. It is a superb collection of maps and views of cities, maps of Europe, Africa, Asia and Central America, including many surprising details. Repeated by Taschen as the "Cities of the World , the book includes 531 plates of cities, accompanied by selections from texts by Braun on the history and importance of each urban center at the time, and the translation into Latin cartridges Accompanying each print. It can browse online here.

"A detailed commentary places each city plan in its cartographic and cultural context and returns on earlier sources as well as subsequent editions. A new introduction provides an analysis that places the book in its cultural context and history. Paris, London and Rome to Mexico, via Cairo or Jerusalem, readers will find many towns and they know they can explore with this time travel. "
The angles of these boards and sometimes the details so accurate for the time that Taschen do not hesitate to say that this is a version of Google Earth in 1572 ...
